program
Our afterschool program is a safe, structured, and nurturing space where children and youth are empowered to grow. Through literacy support, tutoring, enrichment activities, and character-building mentorship, we are bridging gaps in education and confidence—helping young people see themselves as leaders and learners with limitless potential.
Our 6-week full-day summer program offers a reading curriculum that helps scholars gain confidence in their ability to read, comprehend, and discuss texts. In addition to literacy, the program emphasizes intergenerational leadership development, and family engagement. Youth explore real-world issues and are encouraged to think critically, speak out, and become agents of change in their communities. Afternoon activities include arts, STEM, recreation, and field trips, offering well-rounded experiences that spark creativity and build relationships. Employing college-aged Servant Leader Interns who are trained to deliver the curriculum and serve as mentors and role models. Families are actively involved through volunteering, engagement events, parent workshops, and community service opportunities.
The last week is environmental education and exposure. Everyday is spent off site in a local forested space. Called Discovery Days, participants learn about the soil, water, trees, and animals as well as how we are all connected.
